I never hear my alarm. Somebody else does, and wakes me up

I have several alarm clocks and I snooze them all repeatedly
Other GON Reader Comments:
•
My alarm is across the room, so it's not accessible to hit snooze.
•
I wake before my alarm, usually. But if my alarm goes off, I get up
immediately.
•
Depends, I know when I HAVE to get up.
•
Mostly twice, but if the day has a special goal, I get up directly.
•
When we first got married, my husband and I made the agreement that
neither would use the snooze button. It’s not fair to the other person who may
have a later waking time. It’s rude to disturb their sleep every 7 minutes! So,
we set the alarm, turn it off quickly and get up quietly. Happily married for 34
years.
•
Alarm clock? What alarm clock?!
•
I’m retired, but live in Belize where the birds, chickens and dogs all wake up at
dawn. I get up about 30 minutes later.
•
I set an alarm clock, but I often wake up in the middle of the night and have
trouble falling back to sleep. If this happens, I will either change the alarm
time or turn it off. I usually wake up naturally by 7 a.m., but since I work during
the week, I try to set the alarm, so I can avoid being late to the office, if
possible. I set the alarm on the weekend, because then I have the luxury of
either getting up or turning off the alarm and sleeping as long as I want. Weird,
but it makes me happy.
•
Twice, but I have extra cushion time built in to let this happen. I do not like to
wake up in a hurry. I need time to process the plans for the day.
•
I still use a clock radio. I have it set to one of my favorite local stations and I
wake to the music each morning. I find it better then any type of alarm.
•
I'm retired. I get up when I want with no alarm clock.
•
Sometimes I hit snooze once, but often get up beforehand (woken by partner
talking or getting up).
•
Retired, so no need for an alarm except for special occasions. Prior to
retirement I would hit the snooze alarm repeatedly until I absolutely had to
get up or I would be late for work!
•
Now that I'm "retired" from stay-at-home-mom, I generally just sleep until I
wake up naturally. On the days I have to get up at a certain time, I not only
snooze, but I reset the alarm time…deciding while I'm half asleep that I just
don't need that much time to get ready. Then, of course, I'm late!
•
Never. Instead I set two alarm times, 5 minutes apart. I either get up during
those five minutes, or wait for the second alarm. That’s less than “snooze”
time.
