How long does it take you to put away your

laundry after washing/drying/folding it?

Here’s how GON Readers responded… 44% I put it away immediately 24% Not immediately, but by the end of the day 19% A day or two…sometimes three 5% Other 4% My stuff gets put away, but other family members allow theirs to sit for days 3% I don’t put it away. I choose clean clothes right out of the laundry basket 1% My spouse/significant other, or someone else handles laundry…from washing and drying to putting away Other GON Reader Comments: We usually try to put it away immediately after folding, but always by the end of the day. I fold as soon as they are dry and then put the household and my personal items away right away. My husband puts his away by the end of the day because I leave them on his side of the bed and he wants to go to sleep. When I am feeling ambitious, I put it away immediately, other times I may let it sit for a day or two. Immediately or by the end of the day, depending on what is already on my schedule for that day. The machines are in the basement. I do several loads in one day and bring all baskets to the second floor by bedtime. First thing in the morning, after the bed is made, piles get sorted on bed, then put away (takes 5 minutes). Every family member has a clean laundry bin in our laundry area. I do a load every day and put into the basket when dry. Once a week, clothes are put away in closets. At the end of the day, I tidy things up through out the house and also put away any washed and folded laundry. Some items get put away by the end of the day. Others "live" in the basket. Not proud, but telling the truth. Hang-up clothes get hung up immediately out of the dryer. Fold-up pieces usually get done a bit later. I usually do laundry once a week and sometime that last load, which is usually towels, gets left in the dryer until the next morning. It's usually the same day. Except when it sits in the dryer or a box or a basket for a week, or ten. Back to Web Poll Results Index
