When it comes to items you own in your home, are

you an “Everything In” or “Everything Out”

personality?

Here’s how GON Readers responded… 47% Everything In: I like a more minimalist look and keep whatever I can behind closed doors or in closed drawers. 11% Everything Out: I like being able to see and grab what I need without opening a door or drawer. I like most items out and on display. 8% Everything Out: But only because my home seriously lacks storage space. 24% I'm in Everything In, Everything Out, and Everything ALL ABOUT personality. 10% Other Other GON Reader Comments: A little of both: I keep things out that I use often, but they are containerized in some way [basket, tray, etc.]. Household items in (except for the utensil caddy and pot holders), Decorative items out. Paperwork and TO DO items definitely OUT. Out of sight out of mind otherwise. Mostly everything is behind doors if possible. Everyday used items are in prime real estate areas, especially the kitchen and bathrooms. My husband likes everything out and visible, so I have to guard any open flat surface! More of a combination. I like things tidy and I am trying to get more organized. I like when there is a place for everything, so I know where to find it. But not everyone in my house feels the same. Because of that, I often end up with multiples of the same thing because I can't find it. I also have someone in the house who likes to be able to see everything. That just adds to the cluttered, hoarder “design style.” Both, with the exception of items used near-daily. Example: started eating more bagels and moved toaster to the counter. I like everything hidden that I don't use on "regular" basis. Disability means I have more out because it is easier to reach. Daily used items left out (coffee pot, toaster, fruit bowl) and others away (food processor, mixer). Depending on the items, I am either one as I feel some things are better left out, while other items are better hidden away. Only items l love on display. Everything used regularly is out. Everything used infrequently is in. Seasonal items are stored high unless they’re heavy in which case they’re stored low. At 74 with 49 years of chronic fatigue experience, I try my best to organize with energy needs in mind, meaning I organize in such a way that upkeep requires minimal energy exertion. Everything in. But my husband is an Everything Out. Yikes! Back to Web Poll Results Index
