Everyday uniform

What is your everyday uniform…meaning, what

do you wear on most days?

Here’s how GON Readers responded… 49% Casual. Jeans & T-Shirt 19% Uber-Casual. Sweats/Sweatshirt 16% Other 11% Business Casual 2% An actual uniform (nurse, firefighter, etc.) 1% PJs 1% Business Professional 1% Housecoat/Duster 0% Fancy! Ballgown/Tuxedo Other GON Reader Comments: Jeans and a nice shirt. Usually clothes I could wear to an office, if I were still working. Nice slacks, an attractive blouse; not really formal, but so I look presentable. If doing chores or yard work, I wear old clothes. Our business casual is relaxed at work so my usual attire is jeans, a nice shirt or sweater, and sneakers or low-heeled shoes. Slacks (not jeans) and t-shirt. I’m retired so I’m at home and wear comfy, stretchy yoga slacks and a “scrubs” smock with great pockets! Casual skirt and top. Pair of pants, a shirt or blouse, and a pair of fuzzy socks to keep my feet warm. Sometimes a sweater or light, soft-zip up jacket to keep me warm. Yoga pants and t-shirt or casual shirt. Winter: I wear turtlenecks, sweater over it, elastic leggings, socks and comfy shoes. Summer: I wear a simple dress. My experience shows this is cooler and I am always dressed well. Since retiring, I don't have a daily uniform. I can choose whatever I want. Most days, I range from Casual to Business Casual depending on the day's activities. I have very few fancy or professional clothes left and have been donating what I find I don't wear. Stretch pants, old blouses, flannel shirts (I dress in layers). Yoga pants and tunic. Yoga pants or leggings and a comfy t-shirt. AKA: daytime jammies. Casual knit pants and shirt, more comfortable than jeans. Slacks and a top. Weather helps determine long or short sleeves. I wear a dress usually. Living in Central America, a sleeveless dress, mostly cotton, is the most practical. I am able to pull all over my head, even tho’ some have a zipper, most are “fit & flare” style about knee length. I do have a few skirts and shorts, but I find dresses are more comfortable and cooler to wear. In summer, shorts and tank top. In winter, especially this one, double layers of everything. I dress for several activities each day. In the morning, I watch my granddaughter, run a few errands, take my husband to doctor appointments, buy groceries, and then host or go out for dinner. I call it Smart Casual. Leggings and a loose casual top If I’m sure no one will visit, I let myself have a PJs day. I’m retired! Shorts, t-shirts, and sneakers…so much better than dresses and heels. (Winter) jeans and sweatshirt. Jeans and a knit shirt that’s nicer than a tee. Housecoat: Bathrobe that I wear to Aquafit class and then continue wearing at home. I've discovered leggings! My husband has assured me I have the legs for them. Since I'm normally in a warm and humid environment, they are lightweight and can be worn with a tee-shirt almost anywhere. The one thing I enjoy the most are the bright colors. I'm retired so I usually wear jeans and T-shirts around the house. If I'm expecting company or running to a store, library, bank, etc., I will change into slacks and a blouse. At home, jeans and T-shirt or sweatshirt. For occasional office days, dark dress pants and business pull-over or dress shirt. In the cold weather,  corduroy pants, turtleneck, and sweatshirt. In warmer weather, jeans, T-shirt. I'm retired, so I don't have to dress up, but I'm not sloppy; you never know who will show up at your front door. Bike shorts, T-shirt. Back to Web Poll Results Index
