Here’s a glimpse of what I have going on this

month (May 2022)

Here are just a few things I have going on this month… Book Chat: This month, I'm reading The Keeper of Lost Things by Ruth Hogan. So far, it's pretty good. I attend a book chat and I'm on target for finishing this book ahead of time, so I'm ready to discuss it at our monthly event. Prom: My daughter, Amanda, is attending her senior prom early this month. I've been helping her get ready for that. Her dress was purchased and altered, and she is going to use shoes and a purse from a previous event. Last on the list are the false eyelashes she wants to get (oh to be a teenager again!) and to get her hair done the day of the event. I'll be spending that day helping her get ready and being her official, unpaid, photographer. I look forward to it! Business: I'm on schedule with my business goals this month, and even had a bit of extra time to work on a bunch of new bonuses. You can find them here...I hope you enjoy them! Mother's Day: My family always goes out to breakfast on Mother's Day and then, if the weather cooperates, we do something outdoors, like taking a leisurely walk in Milwaukee along Lake Michigan, or enjoying a scenic drive. If the weather doesn't cooperate, we'll go to an art museum or a movie. Next year, my daughter will still be in college on Mother's Day, so I plan to truly enjoy every moment this year. I'll also be remembering my own mother on Mother's Day, who I know looks down upon us from Heaven every day. Garden Clean-Up: Spring weather has been taking a bit of time to arrive in Wisconsin where I live. April was a cold, rainy month, nearly every day of the month. So, hoping for warmth and sunshine so I can get outside and trim last year's perennials, and add some new plants as well. I try to do this a little bit at a time so the job doesn't seem so overwhelming. Deck: My husband is almost ready to power-wash the deck and replace some of the boards...then both of us will be outside staining the deck together. It's a big deck, as you can see in the photo, and therefore a huge job. Gallery Night: Amanda's school is hosting a Gallery Night this month. Parents, family, and friends are invited to see the wonderful projects our kids have been working on, booth-style, like a trade show. It is an event that was done virtually last year, due to the pandemic, but I'm thrilled to say it's back in-person and I'm looking forward to attending with my husband, Joe. Memorial Day: We're also gearing up for Memorial Day weekend. We never go away because I'm not fond of the traffic on holiday weekends. We'll instead stay local, attend a ceremony in town, fly our flag, and have a family barbecue. It will be our first barbecue of this year, so we're looking forward to that and am working on preparing our menu! Back to A Sneak Peek into Maria’s Life Index
