GON Repurpose and Upcycle Organize your bookshelves. Here’s how… Bookshelves are great organizing tools...and they’re not only for books. In fact, they often look more interesting when you add some elements to break up the monotonous “library look.” Here are some ideas for rearranging the accessories you already own. Using some of these helps you avoid the cluttered look and creates a new look for your shelves: 1. Pick items that are the same color to make a cluster 2. Trays can be used to make groupings 3. The same kinds of items can be placed together such as subject matter, travel mementos or similar shapes 4. Paint or wallpaper used on the back wall of a shelf can give it a new look 5. Place books on a shelf, along with at least two other objects, for more interest 6. Books can be placed horizontally, as well as vertically 7. Picture frames can be set up on stands or hung on the back panel of the shelf 8. Pick items that go with the room 9. Group books according to similar colors or shades.
