January 2022 Organizing Checklist by Maria Gracia https://www.getorganizednow.com My NEW January 2022 Organizing Checklist provides an organizing TO DO for every day of the month... ____ Jan 1 New Year’s Day. Get your 2022 calendar in order. Be sure to enter all birthdays, anniversaries, and other recurring dates, as well as all known upcoming appointments and events. ____ Jan 2 Pass on Christmas goodies. If you have Christmas goodies you and your family are not going to eat, bring them to the office, pass them on to someone else, or get rid of them. No sense keeping them if they’re not going to be used up. ____ Jan 3 Create a folder to hold your 2021 tax paperwork so it’s all in one place for the April 15th tax filing deadline. ____ Jan 4 Reorganize your gift wrap and gift bags. Separate by occasion: Christmas, Birthday, All-Occasion, etc. ____ Jan 5 Clean out all holiday food in your fridge that has not been eaten and is past its prime. ____ Jan 6 Give homes to gifts you’ve received that are not yet put away. Store gift cards in your wallet if they’re for in-person stores. For digital gift cards that you don’t plan to use right away, designate a digital folder so you know where they are when you want to use them. Schedule dates on your calendar to use them so they aren’t forgotten about. ____ Jan 7 Begin storing indoor Christmas decorations (I do a little each day, starting today, until it’s all in storage.) On the next warm day (which may be awhile if you live in a cold-weather state), begin taking down the outdoor Christmas decor as well. ____ Jan 8 Start doing something that you’ve been wanting to do for years, but have been putting off. Perhaps learning to crochet, journaling, or organizing your basement? ____ Jan 9 Grime and smudges on your device screens? Clean them today. ____ Jan 10 National Clean Off Your Desk Day. Today is the perfect day to clear off the surfaces of your desks…at home and at work. Want a clutter-free home once and for all? Check out my Goodbye Clutter resource! Get rid of the rest. ____ Jan 13 Change any light bulbs in your home that have burned out. ____ Jan 14 Replenish postage and mailing supplies as needed. ____ Jan 15 Martin Luther King Jr’s Birthday. Watch his historic “I Have a Dream” speech on YouTube. ____ Jan 16 Do something in memory of someone who has passed away.
