April 2021 Organizing Checklist by Maria Gracia https://www.getorganizednow.com Our NEW April Organizing Checklist provides an organizing TO DO for every day of the month... ____ Apr 1 Clean the microwave. ____ Apr 2 Start cleaning up your garden and lawn for the season. Trim and prune as needed, re-seed, add mulch, etc. ____ Apr 3 Organize your T-shirt drawer. ____ Apr 4 Easter Sunday. Easter (as well as the season of spring) signifies renewal and hope. Wake up today with a new sense of celebration, goals, and forward thinking for the days ahead. ____ Apr 5 Mop and sweep floors in your kitchen, bathroom, or both. ____ Apr 6 Inventory your collection of books. Donate a box or two. ____ Apr 7 No Housework Day. I know it’s not easy to take the day off from all housework…and personally, I’ll still be sure the bathroom and kitchen stay tidy in my home as always. But, I won’t be doing any heavy-duty cleaning today. In fact, I’ll use the time, that I would normally invest cleaning, doing something nice for myself instead. ____ Apr 8 Check your driveway and walkway for cracks. Fix or schedule a repair as needed. ____ Apr 9 Fill bike tires with air and check chains to get them ready for an impromptu bike ride when the mood strikes. Be sure you have bike helmets for the whole family. ____ Apr 10 Sweep the front porch. Inspect for cobwebs and remove those if you see any. Want a clutter-free home once and for all? Do something ‘spa-like’ for your pet…like a DIY bath or professional grooming session, a nail trim, etc. Show your pet a lot of extra love today. ____ Apr 12 Wash windows. If you have a lot, do one or two a day. ____ Apr 13 Weed out your junk drawer. ____ Apr 14 Declutter your clothes closet. Try to fill one bag with clothing and accessories you never wear…and then donate. ____ Apr 15 Get your taxes done. The Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service announced that the federal income tax filing due date for individuals for the 2020 tax year will be automatically extended from April 15, 2021, to May 17, 2021. Still, it’s best to get them done today or well BEFORE the due date. ____ Apr 16 National Stress Awareness Day. Don’t deny yourself daily stress relief. Start a 10-minute stress relief regimen today (like a new Yoga pose, time for meditation, journal-writing, etc.) and continue every day to follow. ____ Apr 17 Clean out a section of your garage. ____ Apr 18 Add wall-mounted storage, to your garage, basement, or hobby room, to keep things neat and off the floor. ____ Apr 19 Are you a crafter? If so, weed out any craft supplies that you’ve been storing (unused) for years. ____ Apr 20 Check wooden boards on backyard decks…my husband will be replacing a few deck boards this year. He always has fun projects when spring arrives. (Smile.) Do you want more time in your day to get things done AND to find the time to do what you love? Give a note or gift of appreciation to an administrative professional in your work office…or in a business office that provides you with a service (like your accountant’s or dentist’s office.) ____ Apr 22 Earth Day. Spend time outside today in celebration of our planet. ____ Apr 23 Clean and organize the kitchen cabinets. You can do a marathon session and do them all at once if you’re feeling really ambitious. Otherwise, handling one or two a day works best for most people. Better to get a few done…than none. ____ Apr 24 Dust off light fixtures and ceiling fans. ____ Apr 25 Remove everything from your home office and/or work office desk and give it a good cleaning. ____ Apr 26 Do you have a set of mismatched dishes, glasses, mugs, etc. that you’ve been meaning to replace? That may be a fun purchase for you this month, if it’s within your budget. Once you have the new set, donate the older one. ____ Apr 27 Organize the linen closet…or linen storage area. ____ Apr 28 Deep clean the bathroom…clean all those nooks and crannies that you don’t get to during smaller routine cleaning sessions. ____ Apr 29 Have you evaluated your bills versus your budget lately? As you get your bills this month, call those companies to see if they can lower the payment amounts. Some won’t…but some will. It always pays to check. ____ Apr 30 Arbor Day. Attend an in-person or virtual class on tree or plant care. Consider planting a tree in commemoration of a loved one. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ by Maria Gracia - Get Organized Now! https://www.getorganizednow.com FREE Goodies and E-zine filled with tips, ideas, articles and more to help you organize your home, your office and your life at the Get Organized Now!
