October 2025 Organizing Checklist by Maria Gracia https://www.getorganizednow.com October is the perfect month to cozy up your home while staying productive and clutter-free. As the weather cools and seasonal festivities approach, it’s easy for small messes and unfinished tasks to pile up. This checklist is filled with quick, actionable ideas to keep your home neat, your days organized, and your energy flowing. Each task takes 10 minutes or less and helps you prepare for the season, whether that’s keeping paperwork under control, refreshing living spaces, or getting ready for autumn holidays like Halloween. Oct 1 Declutter one car compartment: Empty your glove box or center console. Toss outdated papers, store important docs neatly, and add tissues or hand sanitizer. Oct 2 Switch seasonal shoes: Rotate summer sandals into storage and bring out boots. Wipe down pairs before storing to keep them fresh. Oct 3 Clean your entryway mirror: Fingerprints collect quickly. A quick wipe with glass cleaner brightens the space. Oct 4 Organize recipe cards: Sort through your recipe box or binder. Remove duplicates and recycle ones you never use. Oct 5 World Teachers’ Day: Donate supplies: Honor the day by setting aside unused pens, notebooks, or craft supplies to donate to a local school. Oct 6 Freshen throw blankets: Shake out and fold blankets in your living room. Place them neatly in a basket for cozy nights. Oct 7 Clean your coffee station: Wipe down your coffee maker, clean the tray, and organize mugs or pods. Oct 8 Check your smoke detectors: Press the test button. Replace batteries if needed before heating season starts. Oct 9 Declutter junk drawer: Choose one drawer. Toss broken pens, stray rubber bands, and expired coupons. Oct 10 Polish your doorknobs: Use a disinfecting wipe on knobs and handles around the house for a fresh touch. Want a clutter-free home once and for all? Check out my Goodbye Clutter resource! Oct 14 Sort reusable bags: Toss torn ones and fold the rest neatly in one container. Oct 15 Clear expired fridge items: Open one shelf or drawer and remove anything past its date. Oct 16 Wipe light switches: Use a disinfecting wipe on switches throughout your home. Oct 17 Organize nightstand: Clear away old tissues, books you won’t read, or empty water glasses.
