If you’ve been wanting to declutter your email and computer files, this is a
very simple system I use that takes up hardly any time at all. I choose a
“theme” to focus on each day, and I delete 10. For instance, on Mondays, I
may focus on my email. I delete 10 emails I don’t need. On Tuesdays, I may
focus on my bookmarks/favorites, and delete 10 of those I don’t need. If you
focus on “counting to 10” every single day, you’ll always be working to keep
your computer clutter-free. Here are a dozen ideas…just delete 10 a day until
all you have left is what you truly need to keep:
•
Delete 10 email messages from your inbox
•
Delete 10 email messages from your email folders
•
Delete 10 computer files (documents, spreadsheets, text files, etc.)
•
Delete 10 digital photos (blurry/not worthy of keeping, etc.) or graphics
•
Delete 10 bookmarks/favorites
•
Delete 10 old computer programs (uninstall first)
•
Delete 10 phone apps
•
Delete 10 icons on your computer desktop
•
Unfriend 10 social media friends, who aren’t really your friends or who
bring you down
•
Delete 10 contacts on your phone who you really don’t need any longer
•
Delete 10 DVRd programs/movies that you don’t have time to watch
•
Delete 10 music or video files
