Gift cards often get lost or forgotten before
they are used

Some $750 million in gift cards go unused. In fact, American households
have an average of $300 in unused cards…somewhere.
Organize your gift cards into one spot. For those I’m going to use in person,
I rubber band mine together, and place all of them in my wallet, in the same
place where I keep my paper cash. Before I pay for anything, I always check
to see if I have a gift card for that store. In doing so, I never forget my gift
cards at home and I tend to use them up fairly quick.
For gift cards I want to use for online purchases, I keep them in a small box
right near my computer. I tend not to let them sit and gather dust. Instead, if
I have any to use, I buy myself something with them on the weekends when
I have time to browse.
