____ Jul 1
Declutter one desk drawer: It doesn’t matter what drawer
you choose. Open one and get rid of anything that is
unnecessary, like pens that no longer write, business cards
you don’t need, condiment packets from lunches you ordered
ages ago, outdated papers, etc.
____ Jul 2
Sort through your appliance manuals: Get rid of any for
appliances you no longer have.
____ Jul 3
Delete the email messages in your deleted email folder:
Most email programs are set up to protect you from losing
email and require you to manually empty your deleted email
folder. Do that today.
____ Jul 4
4th of July (USA): Do something patriotic today, like
attending a parade, visiting a veterans park, or hosting a
backyard barbecue (be sure you have a good set of grilling
tools!).
____ Jul 5
Update your calendar: Add any upcoming appointments,
events, or deadlines for the month. Do you use an Academic
Year calendar? These are great for students, teachers, and
parents of school age children. If so, now is a good time to
pick up one for the 2023-2024 school year.
____ Jul 6
Clean one fridge shelf: Remove all food items and clean one
shelf. If there are any sticky stains or crumbs, remove those
first. I usually then just spray on some Clorox disinfectant,
wait a few moments for it to do its job, and wipe off. Also, you
might benefit from using refrigerator shelf liners. Want to get
your entire refrigerator organized? Here are 4 steps to an
organized refrigerator.
____ Jul 7
Organize one kitchen cabinet: Choose a kitchen cabinet
that is a bit of a jumbled mess. Empty it, clean it out, and
reorganize the keepers back in.
____ Jul 8
Clean window tracks in one room: Vacuum them out with
your vacuum brush attachment. Then, spray on all-purpose
cleaner and wipe clean.
____ Jul 9
Declutter one digital folder on your computer: What I do
first is look at my folders and determine if there is one I can
completely delete. If you find one, delete it and you’re done
with this task. If not, open one folder and delete any files you
can within it.
____ Jul 10
Clean out the seat pockets in your car: Remove any trash.
Remove anything unnecessary and relocate those items. Add
any items, like an activity book for your child for long rides.
____ Jul 11
Consider buying an appliance you feel you could really
use: I just bought a new Ninja air fryer and I absolutely love it.
It is saving me so much time!
____ Jul 12
Redeem some rewards: Have you been building points with
a store you frequent, a hotel chain you visit often, or on one of
your credit cards? If so, check your reward points. You may
have enough to redeem. If you don’t know how to check your
points and rewards, figure out how to do that today. Contact
the store or business and ask.
____ Jul 13
Clean your hairbrush: Remove any hair. Clean the brush
thoroughly. Most can be soaked in water and dish soap (like
Dawn) and then rinsed. Google specific cleaning instructions
for wood hair brushes that cannot be soaked in water.
____ Jul 14
Look at your spending habits: Are you spending way more
money than you can afford? If so, reevaluate your spending
priorities. If you’re not sure, keep track of everything you
spend money on for the next two weeks. Then, you’ll have a
visual.
____ Jul 15
Donate a pair of shoes: Most people have many pairs that
never see the light of day. Donate a pair you never wear.
____ Jul 16
Create a “specific” TO DO list: Make a list for a project you
need to get started on, like a TO DO list for back-to-school
tasks, a work project, or a party you’re planning.
____ Jul 17
Change one of your passwords: Is one of your passwords
too easy for an unscrupulous person to figure out? Change it
to something much harder to guess. Be sure it’s fairly long
and includes capital and lowercase letters, numbers, and
symbols.
____ Jul 18
Safely clean your phone’s screen: An eyeglass cloth usually
removes smudges easily.
____ Jul 19
Review magazine subscriptions: Evaluate your
subscriptions and cancel any that you no longer use or need.
____ Jul 20
Start back-to-school shopping: Most retail and online stores
already have these types of items available for the August and
September 2023 Back-To-School season.
____ Jul 21
National Junk Food Day: Rather than eating more junk food,
why not use today to switch from eating one of the junk foods
you eat often to something healthy?
____ Jul 22
Christmas in July: Start preparing now, a little bit at a time,
for Christmas 2023. Let the Get Organized Now! Christmas
Holiday Planner be your organized guide.
____ Jul 23
Organize your bulletin board: Remove anything that’s
outdated. Pin something that’s fun, like a vacation destination
you’d love to visit or a quote that inspires you.
____ Jul 24
Clean one item out of your garage or basement: There is a
high chance you are storing something that you really don’t
need.
____ Jul 25
Vow to work on one habit you’d like to change: Maybe you
want to cut down on caffeine, be better about keeping up with
friends, or catch up with your email. Today is a great day to
make a promise to yourself to start a new habit and work on
keeping that promise to yourself.
____ Jul 26
Tidy up your outdoor space: Sweep the patio, water some
plants, and/or add a fun decorative item to your garden.
____ Jul 27
Visit an independent book store: These are always fun to
browse in…and some even have a cafe to make your visit
even more fulfilling.
____ Jul 28
Be sure you’re keeping up with exercise: Many people
tend to exercise less in the summer. Be sure you’re getting
your body moving at least 5 days a week. Walk, swim, take a
fitness class in person or online, play tennis, or go bowling.
____ Jul 29
Check your body (and your pet’s body) for ticks: If you’re
doing anything outside, especially in areas that ticks can live,
check your body and your pet’s body when you’re back inside
your house. This is very important to prevent the possibility of
Lyme’s Disease.
____ Jul 30
Get rid of swimsuits you don’t like: Don’t hold onto
swimsuits you never wear. Donate them.
____ Jul 31
Get August events in your calendar: Even if you’re
considering attending an event on a particular day, get it into
your calendar so you don’t miss it.
