__ Sep 1
Inventory your cool weather gear. Do you need to buy new boots
or gloves this year?
__ Sep 2
Vacuum the edges of your carpeting (against the wall) around
your home. Sometimes dust builds up and our vacuums can’t get
to it. I’ll often go around the carpeting perimeter with a hand vac.
__ Sep 3
Sort through a box in your attic or basement. Do you need to
keep everything in that box or can some of it be donated or
trashed?
__ Sep 4
Donate 5 paperback books to a friend, your local library, or a
used book store.
__ Sep 5
If you have young kids, be sure you schedule 10 minutes daily to
ensure they are sorting through and tidying their backpacks at
the end of the school day.
__ Sep 6
Labor Day. Enjoy a backyard barbecue with your family. Once
the grill is completely cool, clean it well. You may need a grill
brush to remove any burned-on food.
.__ Sep 7
If you don’t currently meal plan, why not start doing so by just
planning three meals. Knowing what you’re going to eat for
dinner each evening and having the ingredients to make it,
makes dinnertime less frustrating.
__ Sep 8
Organize a drawer in your kitchen.
__ Sep 9
Say goodbye to three kitchen gadgets you never use…and likely
never will.
__ Sep 10
Remove the mats in your car and shake them to remove dust,
debris, and crumbs. Vacuum out your car and the mats…and
then return the mats.
__ Sep 11
9/11 Remembrance Day. September 11th marks the 20th year
since the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the
Pentagon, and United Flight 93 that crashed in western
Pennsylvania. Fly your flag at half staff, post an appropriate
photo or quote of remembrance on social media, attend a 9/11
service, and/or resolve to do something today to help promote
peace and unity.
__ Sep 12
Delete 20 computer files you no longer need.
__ Sep 13
How many voicemail messages do you have saved up? Get rid
of any that you no longer need.
__ Sep 14
Is your DVR 99% full? If so, first delete a bunch of programming.
Then, rethink what you’re recording every night and cancel those
automatic recordings that you never get to.
__ Sep 15
Begin garden clean-up in preparation for cooler days ahead.
__ Sep 16
Sweep and/or vacuum inside a closet or two.
__ Sep 17
Organize a drawer in your bedroom.
__ Sep 18
Is there something you’ve been meaning to follow-up on?
Perhaps a question for your insurance company, an inquiry
about something that hasn’t yet been delivered, or a medical
procedure you’ve been avoiding? Follow up today.
__ Sep 19
National Women’s Friendship Day. Meet your favorite friends
for an hour or two. Have coffee, catch up, have fun.
__ Sep 20
Be more active, especially if you spend most of your day sitting.
Try walking after dinner, taking a class at a gym, or dusting off
and using that lonely treadmill in your home.
__ Sep 21
What file folders in your filing cabinet do you no longer have any
use for? Recycle those file folders and the papers inside them.
__ Sep 22
Sort through your paper recipes and recipe cards so that they’re
categorized and easy to find when you need them.
__ Sep 23
Organize a shelf in your linen closet.
__ Sep 24
Clean and organize a cabinet in your bathroom.
__ Sep 25
Go apple picking. Make or bake something with your haul.
__ Sep 26
Organize pet food, supplies, leashes, etc.
__ Sep 27
Weed out shoes you never wear. Organize those you do wear.
Do you need a new shoe rack?
__ Sep 28
National Good Neighbor Day. Did you know that approximately
28% of Americans don’t know any of their neighbor’s names?
Why not make the effort to learn the names of a few of your
neighbors? Another way to celebrate Good Neighbors Day is to
bring your neighbors a small gift, like a basket of
chrysanthemums for their garden or pretty wind chimes.
__ Sep 29
Decorate your home for Halloween. Each year, I look forward to
pulling out my labeled Halloween storage box and spending
some time giving my home a new look for the month.
__ Sep 30
Write up your household and personal goals for October.
