Buy yourself, or someone close to you, a fresh plant or some fragrant cut flowers. ____ May 2 Wipe out the inside of your kitchen cabinets. ____ May 3 Take a good look at the food you’re storing on the fridge door and throw out anything expired…salad dressings, condiments, etc. ____ May 4 Dust all windowsills in the house. ____ May 5 Cinco De Mayo. Treat yourself to a night on the town and some yummy Mexican faire, or try cooking a new Mexican recipe at home.  ____ May 6 Wipe down all remotes you own with a disinfecting wipe.. .____ May 7 Take any small floor rugs outside and give them a good shake. ____ May 8 Do something you’ve been putting off. ____ May 9 National Lost Sock Memorial Day. No, I’m not kidding. This is a real holiday. Time to go through that sock drawer and say goodbye to all singles. ____ May 10 Sort through your plastic food containers and lids. Recycle any that don’t have a match. ____ May 11 Unplug any electronics that don’t get used daily. This saves on energy costs. ____ May 12 Wipe down all of the kitchen and laundry appliances with a cleaning spray. ____ May 13 Mother’s Day. Spoil the special moms you know and love. If you’re a mom, do something nice for yourself too! ____ May 14 Take a few minutes to rid your car of any trash that has accumulated. ____ May 15 Remove the cushions from your couch and vacuum well. When you’re done, flip the cushions if possible. ____ May 16 Check through your food pantry and purge any expired foods or anything you know you won’t eat. ____ May 17 Pull all of the hair out of the hairbrushes and combs in your house. Then, soak them in hot, soapy water for a bit. Later, rinse and air dry. ____ May 18 Do a couples, family, or “Celebrate Yourself” movie night with popcorn and pajamas. ____ May 19 Armed Forces Day. Thank everyone you know who has served, or is currently serving, in the military. ____ May 20 Take your car through the car wash and get rid of all of the road dirt. ____ May 21 Vacuum all sets of stairs in your home. ____ May 22 Take anything out of your freezer that is freezer burned or unwanted. ____ May 23 Go through any DVDs and CDs you may have and make a donation pile of those you no longer want. ____ May 24 Check your grilling supplies and make sure you have enough propane or charcoal for the upcoming weekend. ____ May 25 Reorganize the towels and sheets in the linen closet. ____ May 26 Walk the perimeter of your yard and pick up any trash that may be left behind from the winter. ____ May 27 Clean any heavy winter coats before packing them away for the season. ____ May 28 Memorial Day. Take the time to pause and remember those who have died while serving our country. ____ May 29 Thoroughly clean the inside of your garbage disposal. ____ May 30 Wipe down the interior of your car, especially the dashboard and steering wheel. ____ May 31 Do a quick sweep out of your garage.
