For a PRINTABLE VERSION, click here ____ Mar 1 Go through your email messages and unsubscribe from any you consider to be junk mail. ____ Mar 2 Take a bag to your car and fill it with anything that doesn’t belong. Make it a habit of cleaning out your car every time you arrive home. ____ Mar 3 Vacuum out your clean car and wipe down the dash and doors. Reorganize your trunk and glove compartment and only keep what is truly necessary. ____ Mar 4 Clean out your mud room and put things back where they belong. ____ Mar 5 See if you can find at least 2 companies for which you can “go paperless” to stop receiving a mailed statement. (bank, insurance, etc.) Contact them and make the switch.  ____ Mar 6 Clean out your pantry and donate any non- perishable food you haven’t used throughout the winter. ____ Mar 7 Use a microfiber cloth to clean mirrors and counters in your bathrooms. ____ Mar 8 Empty bathroom trash containers. ____ Mar 9 Sweep front and back porches thoroughly. ____ Mar 10 Change your clocks tonight before bed, if applicable in your area, and check all smoke detectors too. ____ Mar 11 Sort through files of bills. Shred and recycle as much as possible. ____ Mar 12 Take stock of your shoes and donate what you haven’t worn in the past year. ____ Mar 13 Check your medicine cabinets for leftover hotel soaps, shampoos and lotions. Donate to the nearest shelter. ____ Mar 14 Make a pie for Pi day and share with a neighbor. ____ Mar 15 Microwave a mug of water for a couple minutes, to steam it and loosen dried, hard bits of food. Then, wipe the inside of the microwave. ____ Mar 16 Sort through your silverware drawer and get rid of clutter, including plastic silverware you don’t use. ____ Mar 17 Wear green today for St. Patrick’s Day and pay for the coffee order behind you as a kind deed to celebrate. ____ Mar 18 Clean out and shine up your toaster or toaster oven. ____ Mar 19 Grab a rag and wash the top and dials of your washer and dryer as you load your washer. ____ Mar 20 Spring begins today. Wear a cheery shirt and buy some flowers, or a plant, for someone special. ____ Mar 21 Wipe down refrigerator shelves and drawers and find permanent home for items. This way, you’ll be less likely to double-buy because you can’t find something. ____ Mar 22 Sort through your night stand and only keep what you are actually using daily on the surface. The rest can go in a drawer. ____ Mar 23 Get some help and flip your mattress. Flip it over AND around each time. ____ Mar 24 Take stock of your flashlights and batteries to make sure you have the right kinds in case of a power outage. ____ Mar 25 Make a treat. Keep half for yourself and your family. Take the other half to an elderly neighbor or friend. ____ Mar 26 Call to stop a catalog or magazine that you no longer are interested in reading and recycle any that aren’t current. ____ Mar 27 If you use bottled water, get a water filter for your faucet or a pitcher with a filter and use a reusable water bottle. ____ Mar 28 Store your reusable grocery bags in your car and use them when you shop. ____ Mar 29 Change your thermostat to a few degrees colder if you going to be away for a few hours or more. ____ Mar 30 Plan some time to be with family today. Order a pizza and have a board game night around the table. ____ Mar 31 Make a family outing to a local park and bring bags and gloves and see who can fill up their bag with trash first.
