____ Apr 1
Weed out your surplus of dish drying towels. Donate the
excess.
____ Apr 2
Tidy a cabinet or two in the guest bathroom.
____ Apr 3
Clean off a shelf in your refrigerator, especially if there is
some visible gunk on it.
____ Apr 4
Color Easter Eggs.
____ Apr 5
Passover begins at sundown. Passover commemorates
the Jewish people’s historical exodus from Egypt, and
represents a time of hope and rebirth as well. Whether you
are Jewish or not, this is a good day to reflect on the beauty
and significance of freedom.
____ Apr 6
Uninstall a program on your computer that you no longer
have any use for. Delete the shortcut from your home
screen as well.
____ Apr 7
No Housework Day. Take the day off from housework
today. To avoid dinner dishes, go out somewhere to enjoy
dinner tonight.
____ Apr 8
Fireplaces that burn wood need to be cleaned as they build
up a lot of soot. Electric and gas fireplaces also require
routine cleaning to be sure they look their best. Clean the
fireplace or make an appointment to have it
cleaned/inspected/maintained by the professionals.
____ Apr 9
Easter Sunday. While Easter is a Christian holiday,
everyone can celebrate this special day in their own way.
Perhaps your family will attend religious services. Maybe
you’ll take the kids or grandkids on an Easter egg hunt.
Perhaps you can plant flowers to celebrate spring.
Whatever you decide to do, enjoy this day in a peaceful,
loving, relaxing way.
____ Apr 10
Clean the exterior of your car or bring it to the car wash.
____ Apr 11
Dust and vacuum the interior of your car.
____ Apr 12
Sweep your walkway.
____ Apr 13
Clean yard furniture so you can relax and enjoy the sunny,
warm days ahead outdoors.
____ Apr 14
Do some gardening today, indoor or outdoor.
____ Apr 15
Need to make an appointment for lawn care or garden
trimming? Make that call today.
____ Apr 16
Drag indoor trash containers outside and clean them out
well.
____ Apr 17
Does your outdoor hose need to be patched or replaced?
Get that task handled.
____ Apr 18
Income taxes due. Because April 15, the standard tax
deadline, falls on a Saturday this year, the IRS deadline
gets moved to the next business day…today. Be sure your
taxes are filed on time to avoid any penalties.
____ Apr 19
Choose a room and clean that room’s windows, inside and
out.
____ Apr 20
Choose a room and clean/repair windows screens.
____ Apr 21
A wonderful way to lighten the volume of stuff in your home,
or to downsize, is to schedule a garage sale. Get an event
date on your calendar today and begin preparing.
____ Apr 22
Earth Day. Learn a skill that helps you help our planet. It’s
a good day to learn how to compost, upcycle an old item
into something new, repair clothing instead of pitching it, or
plant in a community garden.
____ Apr 23
Get rid of something in your garage that has been gathering
dust for years. Donate it, give it away, sell it, or trash it.
____ Apr 24
Declutter a few pairs of shoes. While you’re at it, be sure
your cooler weather footwear and walking sneakers are in
good repair. If not, it may be time for you to shop for a new
pair or two to replace your old ones.
____ Apr 25
Organize something in your guest bedroom or den…a
closet, bookshelf, or nightstand.
____ Apr 26
Digitize some old photos and share them with family and
friends.
____ Apr 27
Clean window blinds in one room.
____ Apr 28
Arbor Day. Read a book about trees. I especially enjoyed
The Hidden Life of Trees.
____ Apr 29
Clean out your old makeup. Then treat yourself to a new
bronzer or lipstick.
____ Apr 30
Open the windows wide and clean the oven early in the
day.
