This month’s theme is: Positive Changes While it can sometimes be challenging to change our ways, our lives, and our habits, change is an absolute necessity for improvement and growth. My September Organizing and Life Challenges are all focused on making positive changes in your life. ___ Change your outlook.  It’s very easy to have negative thoughts. We hear them on the news. We read them on social media. We experience them in groups of folks with differing opinions. Your challenge this month is to avoid knee-jerk reactions, to try to see both sides of every coin, and to be solution- focused versus problem-focused. ___ Put some focus back on yourself.  Very often, we put others ahead of ourselves. That has always been seen as the noble thing to do. We take care of our families, our neighbors, our pets, our co-workers, organizations, etc…and it’s a good thing to do so. But you should not always be the last person on your list. Your challenge this month is to do something every day that is just for you. Take 20 uninterrupted minutes to read. If you play piano, give yourself the opportunity to play. It’s back-to-school season…why not take a class or invest time each day learning how to crochet? ___ Give one room in your home dedicated focus.  Choose one room in your home and give it dedicated time and focus. Does it need to be repainted? Are any repairs necessary? Should you rearrange the furniture? Is it in serious need of a bunch of decluttering sessions? Just choose that one room and give it your focus for at least 10 minutes a day, each day this month. Your goal is to see an overall improvement in its look, feel, and function by month’s end.
