Follow my bedroom speed cleaning tips below (20 minutes) and you’ll have a relaxing, organized bedroom where you’ll be able to catch more quality ZZZZZZZZZZZs. • Grab your supplies...cleaning caddy, vacuum and three laundry baskets. (1 minute) • Separate dirty and clean clothes. Put all the dirty clothes in one basket and all the clean clothes in the second basket. Wait to fold clean clothes for later. (2 minutes) • Make the bed. A made bed makes your entire room look more inviting and welcoming. (2 minutes) • Pick-up items off the floor. Pick everything up off the floor. Objects that belong in your room, like shoes, should be put away. Items that belong somewhere else should be placed in the third laundry bin. (3 minutes) • Clear the nightstand and dresser surfaces. If the surfaces in your bedroom are loaded with paper and other random things, clear them off. Surfaces should be chaos-free to ensure a restful night’s sleep. Just like the floor, objects that belong in your room should be put in a designated space. Items that belong somewhere else should be placed in the third laundry bin. (4 minutes) • Vacuum. Vacuum, (or dust mop) your bedroom, making sure to reach hard- to-reach places. Use the vacuum accessories to dust lamp shades and curtains. (5 minutes) • Dust. Dust objects at eye level or below. (2 minutes and 30 seconds) • Let in some air. vOpen windows or spray air freshener. (30 seconds) • Extra Time? If you have time left over, start folding your clean laundry and putting it away. Then sort and returning items in the third laundry bin to their appropriate homes. If you don’t have time today, spend 15 minutes on these projects tomorrow. Back to Organizing Articles Index
