I remember, when my daughter was eight or nine, she taped about 10
sheets of paper together and made herself a LONG list of things she
wanted to do. She hung it on her bedroom door and, one by one, checked
each item off her list. Because she did this, she eventually checked ALL of
them off. Pretty awesome…and fast forward to today, she now has another
long list!
All of us need something to look forward to. Having a bucket list
(experiences or achievements that you would like to have or accomplish)
is a wonderful “life guide.” This list can include anything you want…from
visiting Tahiti, to learning how to draw, to getting the garage organized so
you can fit the car inside.
Your bucket list is a “living document” meaning you can change it as you
wish. After all, everything that is meaningful to you right now may not hold
that same importance in five years. But you are the captain, and you get to
choose what destinations you want to journey to.
Make a bucket list today. Post it somewhere prominent. Each day, try to
get one step closer to achieving at least one item on your list. Update your
list as needed. And remember, as long as you’re breathing, it’s never to
late to dream a new dream or reach a new goal.
