Almost every single item I purchase has an “intended purpose” and is not just for the sake of buying it “on a whim” or “because it’s on sale.” Before buying anything, ask yourself: 1. Do I love it? 2. Do I really need it? 3. Can I afford it? 4. Do I have the storage space for it? 5. Can I get rid of something else to make room for it? Very often, when I begin asking myself these questions, the answer becomes clear whether I should go ahead and make the purchase, or put it back on the store shelf.
