I love my indoor grill, but cleaning it? Not so much. But this tip makes the job
a whole lot easier.
As soon as I’m done grilling, I remove, plate, and cover the food with foil so
it remains hot. I then turn it off and unplug the grill (IMPORTANT). I then
grab 4 paper towels...all attached, wet them generously in the sink, and
squeeze them out well. I then unfold them, make 2 layers (2 paper towels on
top and 2 on the bottom) and lay them across the hot grill. It will sizzle and
smoke.
The steam loosens up any stuck-on food. As the grill begins to cool, while
it’s warm, but not too hot...I wipe the grill clean with those paper towels.
When we’re done eating, there still may be some minor cleaning required,
but doing the paper towel thing first makes it so much easier.
I have a large indoor grill that is completely open. If you have a smaller one,
after the grill is unplugged you can close the top right on top of the wet,
squeezed out paper towels to steam it clean before wiping.
