Clutter Grab: A great technique is to do a “clutter grab.” Use a basket or box and grab items in your living room that don’t belong there. Throw them in the box. Move to the kitchen. Take out anything that belongs in the kitchen, grab anything in the kitchen that doesn’t belong, and add it to the box. Continue around the house, going from room to room, and picking up things that don’t belong. It’s best to put things away, but if you are really pressed for time and in a crisis, you can circle back to the basket later to put those items away. Common Clutter Culprits: Next tackle the most common clutter culprits…your paper pile, visible room clutter, the laundry pile, and dirty dishes. Take these five actions and you’ll feel much better in a jiffy. Recycle quick: Grab newspapers, catalogs, magazines, junk mail and old school papers. Put it all in your recycle bin. While it is in your hand, put important mail where it belongs Get a trash bag: Go in each room and collect the trash. Head to the outside can and dump.
