This is a great time of the year to get your windows clean, inside and out.
While you’re doing so, don’t forget to clean your window tracks as well.
Here’s a quick way to do so…
1.
Be sure you can get to the whole track by opening the window wide.
2.
Using the narrowest attachment of your vacuum cleaner, suck up all
the loose dirt and debris that has filled up the track.
3.
Spray window cleaner into the track, letting it soak into the dirt.
4.
Scrub the track, including the corner crevices, with an old toothbrush.
This will help to loosen dirt.
5.
Use an old, clean rag to wipe up the cleaner and dirt.
6.
Finally, vacuum the track again and it should be nice and clean.
If you haven’t done this in awhile and you have some really stubborn dirt
and grime, here’s another method that’s a bit messier and takes a little
longer, but is more aggressive.
1.
Using a spoon, sprinkle baking soda into the window track, especially
in those places (corners) that you’re seeing the most gunky build-up.
2.
Pour white vinegar over the baking soda, so the baking soda is
completely wet.
3.
Walk away and allow it to soak for 10 minutes…no more and no less.
While you’re waiting, you can get a few more window tracks ready to
clean with your baking soda and vinegar.
4.
Using an old toothbrush, begin working the gunk from each side to
the middle.
5.
Then use a paper towel or old rag to wipe it up.
6.
If you can’t get to the corners to wipe them well, use a Q-tip or a
butter knife covered with a paper towel or rag
