Fundamentals in Starting and Promoting
Your Business
You may have a good product that for you is very saleable – but will it actually make you
money? It has been proven time and again that a good and effective product is not enough to
ensure sales volumes – you must be able to market and promote your business wisely as well.
The reason for this is simple: you may have a product that can solve all of your problems – but
for it to be saleable, other people actually have to buy your product. Will they buy it if they don’t
even know about it? Of course they won’t!
Marketing is all about getting a message across to a specific group of people. When the
message is communicated well, people get to understand what you are all about, and what your
product is all about as well. When they know what they are buying, and they like it, they will
definitely buy more and more of it.
Here are some ways you can promote your business efficiently:
1. Define your vision.
More than the product or the service you are selling, what is the end goal that you are trying to
achieve? What problem are you giving a solution to? What purpose are you serving that will
appeal to people’s deepest worries and let them feel that you are the answer to this?
These may sound like deep questions, but it is vital to define them from the very beginning. This
will help you get a general sense of direction when things get too complicated and confusing –
there will always be an inner compass to check if you are still in line with the initial vision you
have outlined in the beginning.
2. Know your product/service from the inside out.
For you to be able to sell effectively, you must know what you are selling! This seems so
rudimentary but you will be surprised how people can just sell things, and when potential
customers ask them further questions, they end up not knowing the answers.
You must know the ins and outs of everything about your product or service. All the
technicalities and intricacies must be readily offered when needed. This is vital in marketing
your business effectively as well.
3. Be creative in how you can market your product.
There are many things you can do to make some noise and let people know about your
product. You can think outside the box and not limit yourself to what you have always known, or
what used to come so easy. Distribute flyers, have a life size cardboard cutout of your product
or endorser printed, participate in events. Let your friends and family know that you are offering
something that could help them with their lives!
There are many other ways you can continue promoting and marketing your business – just
make sure you have a good foundation from where to start off. From there, you can branch out
and try many different things that are fitting to your brand. Keep what works, cross out what
doesn’t – just work at it until you find what will give you the sales volumes you want.
