The Advantages of Being An Organized Morning Person For most people, especially those who consider themselves night owls, mornings can be very stressful. All the traffic jams, rush hour and inevitable delays make mornings a little short of being convenient and interesting for them. Some night owls even struggle to be productive and to think straight during the early hours of the day. This can put them at a disadvantage since usual work and class shifts begin during mornings and end at night. Much different from those are the other kind of people. These people are the ones who manage to get through mornings with grace and ease. These people are those who are considered morning people. Organized morning people have no problems with traffic jams because they have already anticipated and incorporated them into their schedules. Morning people do not struggle to get out of bed because they have slept during the hours of the previous night and have had their fair share of sleep. This is the wide gap between night owls and morning people. As the great Benjamin Franklin once said, “Early to bed, and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.” Research has proven time and time again that waking up and starting your day early has many advantages. In fact, a study done by Roehampton University’s Dr. Joerg Huber concluded that "Morning people tend to be healthier and happier  as well as having lower body mass indices." Conversely, the bad habit of night owls is the practice of sleeping late, which consequently results in a repetitive pattern of lack of sufficient sleep. According to research, some aspects of higher level cognitive capacities are degraded by sleep deprivation. There is also no denying that sleep deprivation causes decreased alertness, attention and vigilance. The aforementioned ill effects of sleep deprivation may be a problem for people who need to have a stable degree of alertness when driving to work or even crossing the streets to school. Sleep deprivation may cause them to be less alert endangering their lives in the process. As a matter of fact, a 2012 study of the National Highway Traffic Safety Association (NHTSA) found that approximately 5,000 pedestrians died in motor vehicle related accidents, and approximately 76,000 pedestrians suffered injuries when hit by a car or truck. The likelihood of these accidents are increased when, adding to the negligence of motor vehicle drivers, pedestrians cross highways with low and decreased alertness. If you have been involved in a pedestrian accident similar to this, you may click on this link to learn more about the dangers of pedestrian accidents and your rights as a law-abiding pedestrian. Being an organized morning person can not only help you become healthier, happier, and more alert, but it can also help you get a professional career. As we all know, being organized when it comes to checklists, things-to-do, deadlines, and schedules makes a person more punctual. This would mean that such a person would not have to cram things he or she should have done earlier and certainly no problems with punctuality in early morning meetings and lectures. Lastly, being an organized morning person can help you get the most out of your day. Having an organized schedule helps you to achieve necessary goals before procrastination kicks in. It encourages prompt action on important things. This gives you extra time for yourself to do the things you want, once you finish your tasks early.
