Organizational Tips for Your Home in 2020
Whether you are single and living on your own or have a home filled with family, staying
organized on a daily basis can be tough. You could have a huge home with great barn doors,
storage nooks, and closets galore with all the space you could ever need, or you could have a
small apartment where storage space is very limited. Either way, keeping everything together
and in their designated spaces can be a daunting task. Trying to figure out which storage
products are worth the money and which are not can make the ordeal even more daunting.
Thankfully, there is a great list to go through which tells you exactly what you need for 2020 to
get your home organized with ease.
Double your shelf space
There is nothing worse than opening your kitchen cabinet to try and get a cup down and end up
with everything falling out or having to move things out of the way to get the one item that you
need. A great, very easy way to organize your cabinets and even make more room in your
cabinets is to get the cabinet-level shelves at your local home store. This turns one shelf into
two which gives you double the space to store things.
Drawer organizers
Everyone has at least one junk drawer in their home that you open and throw everything into:
tape, pens, notepads, and scissors. Invest in drawer organizers and you will be able to see
everything as soon as you open the door without having to dig for it. It will also give you a place
to put everything so that pen you always seem to be looking for finally has a permanent home.
Whether it is a drawer in your desk that collects everything or a kitchen drawer that everyone
seems to throw stuff into, a drawer organizer will help make sense of the space and turn the
junk into an organized masterpiece.
Get all of the command hooks
Whether you bought your own home or are renting an apartment, chances are you have a lot of
things that need to be hung up to put away, but you do not necessarily want to ruin your walls
with dozens of hooks drilled into them. Getting Command hooks will give you the ability to hang
pot holders, purses, clothes, kitchen utensils, towels, a jewelry organizer, and the list goes on.
These will not ruin your walls no matter what the wall materials are made of.
Lazy Susans are the best
If you are looking for a way to maximize your space in your kitchen cabinets or even in your
refrigerator, then a lazy susan is a great option. These plate-like contraptions allow you to put
your stuff on there and then spin it around to reach exactly what you need without having to pull
other things out or fumble for what you are looking for. It makes life easier, faster, and keeps all
of your stuff organized.
Under the bed storage options
One way to really maximize your space, especially when you have a small closet, is by using
space under your bed. While you do not want to just throw stuff under your bed as it can get
dusty and disorganized, a great option is to get under the bed storage boxes that have wheels
on them. You can easily store things like shoes, out of season clothes, sheets, pillows, etc., in
them. The lid will click closed and protect your stuff from dust and you can easily wheel it out
and get to your stuff in seconds with minimal hassle.
Wall-mounted coat rack
Coats take up a lot of space in the closet and it can be a hassle trying to get them down and
hang them up when you come in from the outside elements. Grab a wall-mounted coat rack and
put it right by the door. This will not only add a fashionable decorative piece in your room, but it
will also be a very fast, easy place for your family to put their coats as soon as they come in the
door. It is also very handy when guests come to your house so they have an instant place to put
their coats and scarves.
