What Can Be Done to Maximize Your Home Space? Your home should be free from clutter especially if you have kids. There’s no question to this. However, some people think that decluttering means giving up valuable space so that a cabinet can be installed or built in and all loose items kept in there. While this is a valid course of action, it doesn’t really have to be this way all the time. There are actually spaces in your home that you can maximize the use of. Read on to know where these spaces are and what you can actually do with them.  There are no monsters under the bed, just a space that you can use Beds are usually elevated furniture items. Under them are most probably spaces that look occupied but actually are not. You can use them as the permanent storage area for items that you do not normally use or take out on a day-to-day basis. Good examples are holiday decor, photo albums, and old books that you have already read but are not yet ready to let go. Of course, you don’t just dump these items there. There are sturdy plastic boxes that you can buy in supermarkets and even in online stores. You can arrange the loose items neatly in them, and then tuck them away under the bed. Some of these boxes even have wheels so that it’s easy for you to drag them out from under the bed when it’s time for you to use what’s inside. Wardrobe cabinet tops are not just there to collect dust The top of your wardrobe cabinets can be used to store some of your light items. Arrange these loose items neatly in plastic boxes, and then place the boxes on top of the cabinet. If plastic boxes look unsightly, you can create your own storage containers using light wood that you paint with a color that suits your wardrobe cabinet or the overall design of the room. Wall-mounted shelves are your best friends Keeping stuff under the bed is a strategy that we recommend to those who do want to interfere with their home’s current interior design. However, if you are the artistic type who is willing to play with new interior design elements, then the use of wall-mounted shelves is going to be great for you. These shelves are great because they don’t eat up any floor space. There really are no rules as to how high the shelves should be. You can choose to place them at eye level. If that’s too simple, then you can also install them high up. They can serve as storage spaces for items that you do not have plans of transferring anytime soon, such as figurines and books. When neatly placed, the shelves and the items that they hold can double as your permanent interior decor. Depending on how high your ceiling is, you can install these shelves on your own with just the use of a ladder. If the shelf is going to start from high up, protection harnesses from Fall Protection Pros are the best thing to wear just in case you lose your balance and fall. Just make sure, though, that your harness is anchored to sturdy material — safety first!
