Getting Ready for a Magical Experience: Your Disney World Vacation Checklist A holiday at Disney World is like a vacation nowhere else on the planet. Disney World may be one of the prime destinations on your travel bucket list. When it comes to getting ready for a trip to Disney World, you want to make sure you cover all of the bases. You want to make sure that you are fully prepared to enjoy everything Disney World has to offer. This comprehensive Disney World Vacation Checklist is design to cover key things that should be done in advance of our trip. Some of the items listed here may seem minimal. However, without addressing them, your Disney World holiday can prove to be less enjoyable. Shoes Many people run out a purchase some new shoes for a trip to Disney World. Of course, you want to look your best when on holiday. However, the key thing to bear in mind when it comes to shoes is that you want them to be comfortable and broken in. You will want to bring more than one pair of shoes, if for no other reason than afternoon rains are commonplace and you may need to swap out one pair of shoes for a dry pair. Hats There are good reasons why Florida is called the Sunshine State. Bring a hat or cap along for your trip to Disney world. This will protect you from what can be a searing Floridian sun. Rain Gear Afternoon rains were mentioned a moment ago. They occur with regularity throughout the year in Florida. Thus, bring along appropriate rain gear, including a poncho and a travel umbrella. Sunglasses Sunglasses are really a basic necessity in Florida. Consider bringing along more than one pair, in case one gets broken. If you are like most people visiting Disney World, you will want to make sure you’ve access to sunglasses at all time. Sunblock Even when on vacation, you want to protect your skin and your health. Bring along suitable sunscreen and make sure you use it when enjoying your time at Disney World. Zip Lock Bags Bring along empty zip lock bags in different sizes. These can prove useful for everything from dirty clothing to packing snacks for a day out and about. Disney Pins Disney pins – they’re a thing. Many people enjoy trading Disney pins while at Disney World. Thus, you may want to consider bringing some Disney pins along with you to the resort. Of course, you can purchase them throughout Disney World. Empty Luggage No one ever leaves Disney World without bringing some new acquisitions back home. Whether you select souvenirs, gifts for loved ones, or apparel items, odds are strong that you will want to take home different items from your stay at the resort. Thus, you will want to make sure that you bring along an empty piece of luggage to bring your treasures home. Evening Wraps If you plan a trip to Disney World during the prime Florida tourist season, you will be in the Sunshine State during a time of the year when the days are sunny, warm, and bright but the evenings can have a bit of a chill about them. Thus, you will want to bring along some sort of “wrap” to layer on if an evening becomes a bit chilly. Disney Trip Journal Many people memorialize their amazing experiences at Disney World by keeping a journal – the old-fashioned way … by writing thoughts and reflections by hand. Consider packing a special Disney trip journal to chronicle your experiences. Documents and Documentation Don’t forget the basics. Make sure you bring along important documents and documentation that include: Driver’s license ID card Hotel confirmation Pre-purchased tickets Insurance card Passport (if from abroad) Disney MagicBand (electronic pass) Electronic Devices You will also want to make sure that you bring along an appropriate mobile device that permits you the ability to take sharp photos. Odds are that you don’t need to be reminded. However, you definitely will want to take many, many photos as you will cherish them in years to come. Make sure you bring along portable chargers that easily can be carried along when you are enjoying yourself at the resort. Miscellaneous Items Finally, as a friendly reminder, in the happy rush to get ready for your trip to Disney World, don’t forget to pack such basic necessities like: Needle and thread Surge protector Small flashlight First aid kit Prescription medications Making sure you follow this list – and check it twice – you will be on your way to a truly enjoyable Walt Disney World vacation. You will be on your way to make happy memories that will last a lifetime.
