November 7th: Get going on your 2010 goals. Start working on your goals for 1st quarter 2010. Now that the holiday season is upon us, it's going to start getting super-busy. Getting your goals worked out in your mind and on paper now, will help ensure you can start working on them when the beginning of the new year is here. October 17th: Get any business legal issues handled. Whether it's acquiring an LLC, managing a business trust, or taking care of a non-compete, determine what legal issues you need to have resolved and make an appointment with a business lawyer to get those tasks accomplished. October 10th: Buy or borrow a book that will help you in your business. Whether it's a book on marketing, goals, organizing or business finances, buy or borrow a book and learn something new that will help you run your business even better. Even if you learn one, tiny thing, the publication will have been well worth the time. September 27th: End National Preparedness Month on a High Note. Do something organizing-related in your community to celebrate National Preparedness Month (helping people becoming better prepared for and more resilient in the face of emergencies of all kinds). September 13th: Priortize the top 3. Make a list of your business goals for the remainder of the year. Then, prioritize that list and spend the majority of your time working on the top three items. Be sure these are very worthwhile items that will help you grow your customer list, increase your profit, etc. September 6th: Take advantage of the back-to-school season. Use the fact that the kids are back in school to your advantage. For instance, come up with a back-to-school promotion, offer to your customers to work on their organizing projects with them while the kids are in school, or promote 'organizing' at your child's school as both a public service and a way to get your helpful tips and information to their parents. August 30th: Find a product to sell, and start selling it. There are countless affiliate programs available. In essence, you sell someone else's product or service, and you get a commission for doing so. Affiliate programs can be found online or offline. Your challenge this week is to find a product or service to sell, and then start selling it to open another income faucet. August 23rd: Get your Fall organizing goals together. What are your Fall organizing goals? To send out sales letters with special offers? To get your web site up and running, or up-to-date? To contact past customers for possible maintenance sessions? Write down at least 3 Fall organizing goals today, and beging working on each of those today. August 16th: Focus on the Back-to-School Season. Now that many kids are back in school, it's the perfect time to get their rooms organized, or other rooms in the house for that matter. Your challenge this week is to come up with a sales letter that focuses on the back-to-school season and send it to your current customers who need some brush-up organizing sessions. August 9th: Prioritize. We all have lots of things we want to do when it comes to our businesses. However, it's important to get your 'To Do TODAY' list to 2-3 important items at a time--these items should be items that are 'money making' tasks, rather than administrative to do's. Look at your Master List and prioritize the 3 most important items on your list. Begin working on one of those priorities this week. July 26th: Christmas in July. Yes, half of 2009 is already gone, and it's time to begin thinking about the holiday season ahead. Are you going to be sending your clients holiday gifts or holiday cards? Will you have a special holiday promotion going on? Use this week to think up and finalize your plans for Christmas (Holiday Season) 2009. July 12th: Team up. Team up with another local business and do an advertising campaign together. Split the costs of the ad. July 5th: Ring some bells. Want to drum up more organizing business in your neighborhood? Come up with a special offer and begin ringing some doorbells. Introduce yourself, begin forming a relationship, and let them know what you can do for them and why it would be worth their while. June 28th: Send out a postcard with an offer. Think up a good offer to send to a prospect, or a current customer. Get the information on a post card and mail it out. Be sure to track your responses. June 7th: Do an organizing job or project for a worthwhile cause. Do an organizing project, gratis, for an organization such as the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, a local soup kitchen, etc. Be sure you contact the newspaper and let them know what you're doing. Chances are, they'll run an article about your business and the cause you're helping. It's good for business, and it will make you feel good knowing you're helping others.
